The do-not-contact list
The do-not-contact list is your organization's list of people and companies that Navigent must never fetch or contact for you. It applies to every workspace, and it's checked twice: when a search runs, and again just before any message is sent.
Add a person or a company
- Open Settings > Do not contact.
- Add a person by name, LinkedIn profile or e-mail, or a company by name and domain.
- Save the entry. It applies straight away.
Everyone in the organization can see the list and add to it. Only owners and admins can remove an entry.
Off-limits clients
Recruitment agencies often have clients whose staff they mustn't approach. Add the client as a company, and its people never turn up in a search or a campaign. If you set up your organization as an agency recruiter, Navigent asks you to do this right away.
Companies are matched on domain first, then on name. A name can match without being spelled exactly the same, so Navigent shows what it matched, and you can see why someone was left out.
When someone opts out
If a candidate replies that they don't want to be contacted, they're added to the list automatically and their sequence stops. Navigent spots opt-outs with a check of its own, whatever label the reply got in the inbox.
Where the list applies
- In search. People and companies on the list aren't fetched.
- At send time. Every message is checked against the list just before it goes, and nobody on the list ever receives one. This is the check that counts, because the list can change after a search has run.
Every entry has a reason
Navigent records why each entry is on the list: the person opted out, the company is an off-limits client, or a user added it for another reason.
Your do-not-contact list and Navigent's suppression list
The do-not-contact list is yours, and you decide what's on it. Navigent also keeps its own suppression list, which covers every customer. It holds the people who asked to be removed at navigent.io/en/remove-me, and it's checked at the same two points. You can't see or change it, and nobody on it is ever fetched, assessed or contacted again. See Data and deletion.
Good to know
- The list is never deleted automatically. It's kept so an objection is always honoured, and only you can remove an entry.
- If a candidate is already in a campaign when they're added to the list, sending to them stops at the next step.
- If a candidate wants their data deleted from your workspace, not just to be left alone, delete the candidate. If they want out of Navigent for every customer, they can use navigent.io/en/remove-me themselves.
