Searches and usage

Updated

A search is what you pay for in Navigent. One search fetches about 1,000 unique candidates for a role, or fewer when the market is smaller. Everything after the fetch is included. Alongside your searches, you have e-mail addresses for the e-mail steps in your campaigns.

  • Starting the search for a role. The button tells you before you press it, for example "Start search · uses 1 of your 8 searches".
  • Fetching about 1,000 more for the same role. Navigent asks you to confirm, naming the role and your balance.
  • Fetching with new filters. If you change the filters in the chat after the start, the new preview is free, but fetching with them uses a search, and Navigent asks first.

What's free

  • The preview, including every new count when you remove a filter.
  • The questions, calibration, and re-ranking when you change a preference.
  • Having the whole longlist assessed, 50 at a time.
  • Replacing duplicates. Navigent pays for that.
  • Resuming a search that stopped part-way.
  • A search that stores no candidates. You get the search back automatically.

Your balance

Basis gives you 10 searches per user per month, and Pro 30. They go into one balance for the whole organization, so three users on Basis share 30 a month. Usage is logged per workspace.

You'll find the balance:

  • on the button that starts a search
  • in the right-hand panel of a role, with what that role has used and what's left
  • under Settings > Searches, with every movement. Everyone can see this page
  • under Settings > Subscription, with the date the balance expires. Owner only

The owner and admins get an e-mail when fewer than 2 searches are left, and another when none are.

Searches don't roll over

Unused searches expire at the end of the period, plan searches and extra searches alike. Three days before a period ends with searches unused, the owner and admins get a reminder.

On an annual plan, searches arrive month by month, and each month's searches expire at the end of that month. Subscription shows the date of the Next grant.

Extra searches

An extra search costs DKK 199 excluding VAT, the same on Basis and Pro. It goes into the same balance as the rest and expires with the period; the purchase screen shows the date before you pay. Buying extra searches doesn't change your subscription, your seats or your renewal date.

A search within a plan costs DKK 149.90 on Basis and DKK 124.97 on Pro, so an extra search always costs more. If you often buy extras on Basis, moving to Pro can work out cheaper.

The trial

The trial gives you 2 searches and 50 e-mail addresses for 14 days. If you use both searches before it ends, you can start the paid plan right away. That ends the trial and gives you the plan's searches and e-mail addresses.

E-mail addresses

An e-mail step in a campaign needs the candidate's e-mail address. Navigent looks it up only when a candidate in an active campaign reaches an e-mail step that's due. Nothing is looked up in advance, and there's no way to look an address up yourself: not on the candidate card, not in the Chrome extension and not in an export.

  • Basis gives you 300 e-mail addresses per user per month, and Pro 1,000. They're pooled for the whole organization, like searches, and unused addresses expire at the end of the period.
  • An address counts only when it's found. If none is found, it costs nothing, and that candidate's e-mail step is skipped.
  • The same person costs only one address in your organization, even when another workspace finds them again.
  • An address that's found is unlocked. It shows on the candidate and in the inbox, and an export includes only unlocked addresses.
  • The limit is firm. Once the e-mail addresses are used up, e-mail steps wait under Needs action in the inbox, and the owner and admins are told once, with the option to buy more. When there are addresses again, the waiting candidates carry on in the order they reached the step.
  • Extra e-mail addresses cost DKK 99 excluding VAT for 250. You buy them like extra searches, and they expire at the end of the period.
  • Subscription shows how many e-mail addresses you've used this period and how many are left.

Good to know

  • Seats added mid-period bring their searches and e-mail addresses with the next grant, not straight away.
  • Searches and e-mail addresses you've been given are never taken back, not even if a payment fails.
