Navigent vs Gem: price, data and GDPR

Updated

Gem is an American recruiting platform with AI sourcing, CRM, ATS, scheduling and analytics in one system. Navigent is made in Copenhagen for roles in Denmark and does one thing: it takes a Danish job ad to a ranked longlist and reaches the people you choose. Here's how they differ on price, search, outreach and data, and what each does well.

The details about Gem were last checked on 13 October 2026. Sources are listed at the end.

What Gem is

Gem Software, Inc. sells Gem in two ways: as a layer on top of your existing ATS, or as Gem All-in-One, where Gem is your ATS too. The platform has an AI for sourcing that, according to Gem, searches more than 800 million profiles, an AI that reviews and ranks applicants, an AI that brings past candidates back, and an AI that flags suspicious applications.

With Gem's Chrome extension you add profiles from LinkedIn and more than 20 other sites with one click, and Gem finds email addresses without a cap. Sequences can go out by email, SMS and InMail, and be sent in a hiring manager's name.

What Gem does well: one system from the first outreach to the signed offer, a CRM that keeps candidates warm over time, and analytics across the whole pipeline. Gem says the platform has a SOC 2 Type II report and that NCC Group audits it every year.

What Navigent is

In Navigent, you start with a role. You paste the job ad, and Navigent reads the requirements and sets filters with Danish and English title variants, which you can remove. The preview is free. One search fetches about 1,000 unique candidates from a database of +305 million professional profiles, +1 million of them Danish LinkedIn profiles. The best 200 or so make the longlist, and up to about 50 recommended are assessed requirement by requirement, with evidence from the jobs each assessment rests on. You decide, and only people you've said yes to are contacted.

Price

Gem shows no fixed list price. The price depends on how many full-time employees the company has, and is agreed with Gem's sales team. Companies with fewer than 30 employees get Gem All-in-One free for six months and then 50% off, and companies with 30 to 100 employees get reduced rates from the start.

Navigent (Danish kroner, excluding VAT): Basis DKK 1,499 and Pro DKK 3,749 per user per month, with 10 and 30 searches shared across the organisation. Extra searches are DKK 199 each. Paying yearly gives you 12 months for the price of 10. You can try Navigent free: 2 free searches, 1 more per colleague, up to 5, no card.

Gem: You describe who you're looking for in your own words, and Gem searches more than 800 million profiles and your ATS and CRM and suggests the best matches. You can also use advanced filters and Boolean. When you start a search, Gem breaks the pool down by role, location, company and tenure.

Navigent: You don't write a search string. Navigent reads a Danish or English job ad and sets function, seniority, location and years as filters, which only exclude with a tolerance, and missing data never excludes anyone. Three candidates at a time calibrate the ranking, and every assessment is written in Danish or English, citing the jobs it rests on. How many profiles there are in Denmark for selected titles is shown in the candidate atlas.

How you contact candidates

Gem: Multi-stage sequences go out by email, SMS and InMail, and AI drafts the messages from each candidate's background. Gem uses a tracking pixel to see when an email is opened, and shows opens and replies, so you can test subject lines against each other.

Navigent: Campaigns send from your own LinkedIn account: an invitation without a note by default, a message after acceptance and follow-ups, with email from your own Gmail or Outlook as the fallback. Every message can be read before it's sent, a reply stops the sequence, and there's no open or click tracking. LinkedIn's rules don't allow tools that automate activity, and the risk to the account is yours. More in LinkedIn limits for recruiters.

Data and GDPR

Gem says in its privacy policy that information from the EEA is transferred to the United States, and that Gem uses datacenters in the United States. Gem's application servers run on Heroku and its databases on Amazon Web Services, and Gem is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and also uses the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Gem offers a data processing agreement.

Navigent: You're the data controller and Navigent is the processor. Navigent's database, sign-in and file storage are in the EU (Frankfurt). Several of its providers process data outside the EU, for example in the United States, and the list of sub-processors shows where each one does and under which transfer mechanism. The AI model gets the candidates' careers without names, photos, email addresses or phone numbers. Candidates who aren't on a shortlist for an active role are deleted 90 days after they were last fetched.

Either way, it's your recruitment. When you contact someone who hasn't applied, you owe them the information in Article 14 of the GDPR, at the latest in your first message. More in GDPR and sourcing passive candidates.

Who each is for

Gem suits companies with their own recruiting team that want sourcing, CRM, ATS, scheduling and reporting in one system, and startups that can use Gem's offer for small companies. Gem also has a solution for recruiting firms.

Navigent suits agencies and companies hiring for white-collar, specialist and management roles in Denmark that want to go from a Danish job ad to a shortlist with evidence without replacing their ATS. The price is on the page, in kroner.
