Navigent vs SeekOut: price, data and GDPR

Updated

SeekOut is an American platform for sourcing and evaluating candidates, with more than 1 billion profiles and many filters. Navigent is made in Copenhagen for roles in Denmark and starts with the Danish job ad. Here's how they differ on price, search, outreach and data, and what each does well.

The details about SeekOut were last checked on 13 October 2026. Sources are listed at the end.

What SeekOut is

SeekOut Sourcing, formerly SeekOut Recruit, helps you find and contact candidates. AI builds the search criteria from the job ad and searches more than 1 billion profiles from external sources and your own ATS. Candidates are scored against automated criteria, and if you want to drive the search yourself, there are many filters, Boolean and wildcards.

SeekOut also has modules to evaluate and screen applicants, and SeekOut can be used inside Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Amazon Quick, so you can ask for a ranked list in plain language.

What SeekOut does well: a large database with dedicated pools, such as more than 40 million technical profiles and more than 97 million subject matter experts, plenty of filters for anyone who wants to search by hand, and a public price for one user. SeekOut says the platform has been SOC 2 Type 2 certified since 8 June 2023, runs on Microsoft Azure and doesn't use customer data to train its AI models.

What Navigent is

In Navigent, you start with a role. You paste the job ad, and Navigent reads the requirements and sets filters with Danish and English title variants, which you can remove. The preview is free. One search fetches about 1,000 unique candidates from a database of +305 million professional profiles, +1 million of them Danish LinkedIn profiles. The best 200 or so make the longlist, and up to about 50 recommended are assessed requirement by requirement, with evidence from the jobs each assessment rests on. You decide, and only people you've said yes to are contacted.

Price

SeekOut (USD):

  • SeekOut Sourcing Core: USD 149 a month paid yearly in advance, USD 1,788 a year, or USD 179 a month billed monthly. For the individual recruiter.
  • The other plans, with more users, ATS integration and applicant evaluation: price on request, billed yearly.
  • Sourcing Core can be tried free for two weeks, with no card.

Navigent (Danish kroner, excluding VAT): Basis DKK 1,499 and Pro DKK 3,749 per user per month, with 10 and 30 searches shared across the organisation. Extra searches are DKK 199 each. Paying yearly gives you 12 months for the price of 10. You can try Navigent free: 2 free searches, 1 more per colleague, up to 5, no card.

SeekOut: You can start from the job ad and let AI build the search criteria, or build the search yourself with filters and Boolean. You can search for anything from technical roles to nurses and security-cleared candidates, and SeekOut also finds past applicants in your ATS.

Navigent: You don't write a search string. Navigent reads a Danish or English job ad and sets function, seniority, location and years as filters, which only exclude with a tolerance, and missing data never excludes anyone. Three candidates at a time calibrate the ranking, and every assessment is written in Danish or English, citing the jobs it rests on. How many profiles there are in Denmark for selected titles is shown in the candidate atlas.

How you contact candidates

SeekOut: You send multi-step campaigns with messages AI helps you write, and follow opens, replies and engagement.

Navigent: Campaigns send from your own LinkedIn account: an invitation without a note by default, a message after acceptance and follow-ups, with email from your own Gmail or Outlook as the fallback. Every message can be read before it's sent, a reply stops the sequence, and there's no open or click tracking. LinkedIn's rules don't allow tools that automate activity, and the risk to the account is yours. More in LinkedIn limits for recruiters.

Data and GDPR

SeekOut says the platform is hosted entirely on Microsoft Azure, and SeekOut's trust center gives Azure's location as multiple locations in the United States, where all customer and platform data is processed. According to its privacy policy, SeekOut transfers data from other countries, including the EEA, to the United States, with standard contractual clauses in its data processing agreements. Its candidate database is built from publicly available information that SeekOut licenses from third-party data providers.

Navigent: You're the data controller and Navigent is the processor. Navigent's database, sign-in and file storage are in the EU (Frankfurt). Several of its providers process data outside the EU, for example in the United States, and the list of sub-processors shows where each one does and under which transfer mechanism. The AI model gets the candidates' careers without names, photos, email addresses or phone numbers. Candidates who aren't on a shortlist for an active role are deleted 90 days after they were last fetched.

Either way, it's your recruitment. When you contact someone who hasn't applied, you owe them the information in Article 14 of the GDPR, at the latest in your first message. More in GDPR and sourcing passive candidates.
