Connect Claude or ChatGPT

Updated

You can use Navigent from your own AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT. The assistant connects to Navigent's MCP server and works as you in one of your workspaces. It can read and help with day-to-day work, but it can never spend a search, start a campaign or contact anyone.

The server's address

https://app.navigent.io/api/mcp

Connect Claude

  1. Open Claude and go to Settings > Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector, name it Navigent and paste the address above.
  3. Click Connect. Navigent opens in your browser. If you're not signed in, sign in first.
  4. Read what the assistant gets access to, pick the workspace and click Allow access.

Connect ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT and go to Settings > Apps and connectors. Your plan must allow custom connectors.
  2. Create a new connector with the address above and choose OAuth for sign-in.
  3. Navigent opens in your browser. Sign in, pick the workspace and click Allow access.

Other assistants that can use an MCP server with OAuth connect the same way.

What the assistant can do

  • Show your roles, their requirements and numbers.
  • Read a role's longlist and shortlist, and each candidate's card with Navigent's assessment.
  • Create a role from a job ad or a link to it, with its free preview.
  • Shortlist or reject a candidate, and write a note.
  • Read your campaigns, the inbox and candidates' replies.

What needs your confirmation

Spending a search, fetching more candidates and starting a campaign never happen from the assistant. If you ask for one, the assistant gives you a link to the place in Navigent where you see the price and confirm it yourself. The assistant also never sends messages, unlocks e-mail addresses, exports or deletes anything.

Text written by others

Job ads, profiles and replies are written by other people. Navigent marks such text as untrusted in everything the assistant receives, and removes what speaks to AI tools, so a profile can't give your assistant orders.

What data leaves Navigent

What the assistant reads is sent to the assistant and its provider, such as Anthropic or OpenAI. That is your own choice as the data controller, under your own agreement with the provider. The provider is not Navigent's sub-processor. Candidates' photos are never sent, and an e-mail address only once it has been unlocked.

Navigent logs every call: who, which app, which tool, when and the outcome, but never the content. The log is kept for 90 days.

Remove access

Go to Settings > Connected apps and click Remove access next to the app. The assistant can't use Navigent from its next call. Owners and admins can also remove access for colleagues' connections.

Every call counts towards a limit of 120 an hour per user. The connection lasts as long as it is used at least every 30 days, and 90 days at most. Then you connect the app again.
